Salicylic acid is an important raw material for organic synthesis and is widely used in the pharmaceutical, pesticide, rubber, dye, food and flavor industries. In the pharmaceutical industry, salicylic acid is used to produce the main drugs such as sodium salicylate, wintergreen oil (methyl salicylate), aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), salicylic acid amine, salicylic acid phenyl ester, etc. In the dye industry for the production of mordant pure yellow, direct yellow 3GN, direct yellow GR, direct brown 3GN, acid mordant brown G, acid mordant yellow GG, acid complex yellow and other dyes. Function and Application of Salicylic Acid CAS 69-72-7 
1. Salicylic acid (also known as beta-hydroxy acid, BHA) is a very common exfoliating acid ingredient that dissolves the bonds between the dead cells fixed in the skin's surface to achieve exfoliation.
2. Salicylic acid is lipid soluble and can penetrate deep into pores to dissolve oil and unclog sebaceous glands; its acidity dissolves hardened oil and keratin and loosens keratin plugs in hair follicles, while it also has mild anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.
3. Salicylic acid has different degrees of anti-inflammatory, astringent and anti-itch effects on seborrheic dermatitis, papulopustular rosacea, and folliculitis. The anti-inflammatory effect of aspirin comes from the formation of salicylic acid after decomposition in the body; and salicylic acid has a certain broad-spectrum bactericidal ability, which is effective against many bacteria and fungi.
4. Salicylic acid penetrates into the pores, dissolves aging keratin-forming cells, lightens pigmentation, and enhances the metabolism of skin cells. It dissolves the connection between skin keratin, produces exfoliation of the keratin layer, removes the accumulated over-thick keratin layer, promotes epidermal metabolism, plays the role of skin rejuvenation and whitening, prevents the production of acne marks, removes already produced acne marks, and prevents UV damage and photoaging.
