Zinc bacillus peptide is a complex formed by bacillus peptide and zinc ion, which is a peptide antibiotic, and is the most widely used antibiotic feed additive, with zinc content generally ranging from 2% to 12%. The synthetic product is white or yellowish powder, with special odor, easily deliquescence to weak alkaline material, easily soluble in water, methan ol and ethanol. Zinc bacitracin has strong antibacterial effect on Gram-positive bacteria and also on some Gram-negative bacteria. The use of zinc bacillus peptide in full-price feed for pigs can promote growth rate, improve feed remuneration and prevent bacterial diarrhea and chronic respiratory diseases in pigs. The addition concentration is generally effective from 10 to 100mg/kg, but the effect is not significantly improved beyond this range. Zinc bacteriophage is not absorbed in the intestinal tract of pigs, so it is a safe and reliable antibiotic drug additive. Zinc bacteriophage is highly toxic and not easily absorbed by the intestine, so it cannot be used for the treatment of systemic infections.

Function and Application of Zinc Bacitracin CAS 1405-89-6
1. Zinc Bacitracin is mainly used as feed additive to promote the growth of livestock and poultry, prevent and control bacterial diarrhea of livestock and poultry, as well as pig dysentery caused by dense spirochetes. Bacteriophage zinc is almost not absorbed internally and most of it is excreted with feces within 2 days, so it is not easy to be left in livestock and poultry products; bacteria rarely have resistance to bacteriophage, and there is no cross-resistance with other antibiotics, and it has synergistic effect with penicillin, streptomycin, neomycin, chrysomycin, polymyxin, etc.
2. Zinc bacitracin is a peptide antibiotic with bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria. Its mechanism is mainly to inhibit the bacterial wall synthesis of bacteria, and it can also bind to the cell membrane of sensitive bacteria, which can damage the integrity of the cell membrane and lead to the outflow of important intracellular substances.
