Yohimbine is a natural alkaloid with the molecular formula C12H26N2O3, which is extracted from the bark of the yohimbine tree (CorynantheyohimbeK.Schum.) of the Rubiaceae family and from the roots of the Rauvolfia plant of the Oleaceae family. Yohimbine tree is produced in Africa, while it is not produced in China. Yohimbine can selectively block presynaptic D2 receptors, promote the release of norepinephri ne, cause more norepinephri ne to be released from cavernous nerve endings, reduce penile venous reflux, and facilitate engorged erection. When applied in small amounts, it can make the perineum swell and stimulate the erectile center of the spinal cord to play a role in treating erectile dysfunction, and is an erection-inducing agent that acts in the periphery. Yohimbe extract is a peripheral erection inducer. The human body can take Yohimbe extract to expand the blood vessels of the organs, increase blood flow to the organs and increase the formation of nitrous oxi de, thus enhancing sexual function. Function and Application of Yohimbine CAS 146-48-5
1. Yohimbine selectively blocks presynaptic alpha 2 receptors and promotes the release of norepinephri ne. It causes the release of more noradrenal epinephri ne from cavernous nerve endings, which reduces venous return to the penis and facilitates engorged erections. When applied in small amounts, it can swell the perineum and stimulate the erectile center of the spinal cord to make sexual function hyperactive. This Yohimbine Hydrochloride also produces a psychological euphoric effect and increases sexual desire.
2. Yohimbine has an adrenergic blocking effect and is used for the treatment of atherosclerosis and angina pectoris; it has been used as a local anesthetic and pupil dilator in the past, and also seems to have a carminative effect.
