Dalbavancin, which has the same mechanism of action as vancomycin and teicoranin, inhibits cell wall biosynthesis of G+ bacteria and is widely used as a drug to treat skin and soft tissue infections. In vivo and in vitro tests have shown that Dabavanxin has antibacterial activity against G+ bacteria including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA), coagulase-negative Staphylococcus aureus (CoNS) and Streptococcus. It is active against G+ resistant bacteria including penicillin-resistant and ceftriaxone Streptococcus pneumoniae, teicolanin insensitive CoNS and non-VANA enterococcus. It is also active against G+ anaerobic bacteria. Dabavanxing has unique pharmacokinetic properties and can be administered at weekly intervals. At present, dabavanxing has achieved good results in the treatment of catheter-related blood-borne infections as well as skin and soft tissue infections. With excellent in vivo antibacterial activity and safety, it is an ideal second-generation glucopeptide antibiotic.

Function and Application of Dalbavancin CAS 171500-79-1

1. Dalbavancin is a semi-synthetic glycopeptide prepared from A40926 by introducing a positively charged lipophilic moiety in a previously unexplored region of the natural glycopeptide. This modification provides a longer in vivo half life, and improved in vitro activity against a variety of Gram positive and multi-drug resistant isolates such as MRSA and MRSE.
2. Dalbavancin is a second-generation lipoglycopeptide antibiotic. It is a semisynthetic lipoglycopeptide that was designed to improve upon the natural glycopeptides currently available, vancomycin and teicoplanin.
