Fluoroquine, also known as fluoroquinic acid and fluorohexaquinic acid, is a second-generation synthetic quinolone antibacterial drug for animals, and the only broad-spectrum antibacterial veterinary drug that is not shared with humans, and is an alternative to fluoroperazine. Its main function is to inhibit the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) gyrase of bacteria, so that the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) protein is disturbed, so that the cell can no longer divide, thus playing a bactericidal role. Mainly used for livestock and poultry bacterial respiratory disease, Escherichia coli, dysentery, salmonellosis, typhoid fever, avian cholera, staphylococcal disease infectious rhinitis, etc. Aquatic animals of Escherichia coli disease, monospora and Vibrio spp. disease, Aeromonas hydrophila has a strong inhibitory effect.

Function and Application of Flumequine CAS  42835-25-6
1. Flumequine is a new broad-spectrum antibacterial synthetic drug with good efficacy against bacterial diseases in animals
2. Flumequine is a fluoroquinolone compound with antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative organisms. It is used in the treatment of enteric infections in food animals and in the treatment of bacterial infections in farmed fish. Flumequine is replacing oxolinic acid in aquaculture because of its more appropriate pharmacokinetic profile and lower effective doses (Treves-Brown 2000). Flumequine also has limited use in humans for the treatment of urinary tract infections.
