Function and Application of Hydroxypropyl alpha cyclodextrin CAS 128446-33-3
1. (2-Hydroxypropyl)-α-cyclodextrin can be used as a chiral selector to resolve tryptophan racemate by capillary electrophoresis.
2. Hydroxypropyl alpha cyclodextrin can be used to synthesize biodegradable polyrotaxanes for fabricating blood-contacting devices.
3. Co-polymer based on (2-hydroxypropyl)-α-cyclodextrin cross-linked with polyethylenimine can be used as a gene delivery vector.
4. Hydroxypropyl alpha cyclodextrin can also be used as stabilizer for antibacterial iodine formulations, as it forms a stable inclusion complex with iodine and improves aqueous solubility.
