Floxuridine (Deoxyfluorouridine, FUDR, NSC 27640) is a precursor drug that is rapidly broken down to 5-fluorouracil in the body. Floxuridine is used to treat a variety of cancers, particularly those that have metastasized to the liver. Floxuridine has antiviral effects against HSV and CMV.

Function and Application of Floxuridine CAS 50-91-9

1. Floxuridine is an anti-tumour medicine. Indicated for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, gastrointestinal tract cancer, breast cancer and head and neck cancer. May have bone marrow suppression. Side effects such as gastrointestinal reactions and local skin reactions are similar to those of fluorouracil. Increased alkaline phosphatase, serum aminotransferase, serum bilirubin and lactate dehydrogenase may also be observed.
